| Lulu Belle's Story |
| |
Lulu was an energetic independent girl. Sometimes she liked me sometimes she didn't but she something that was always a given was she was at the door waiting for me when I came home from work everyday and slept with me every cold night in the winter. In the summer she would sit in the window every night looking out.
In Feb I noticed she had a growth on her hip. It was a maligant tumor that the vet took out immediately. I choose not to put her through chemo as it is an agressive cancer and I wanted to have some happy time left. She had two good months after the surgery acting like a kitten again. In April she fell ill on Sunday and early Tuesday morning she passed at the house with me at 11 years old.
In hindsight I didn't notice the details that would have led me to know she was getting the tumor. She wasn't sleeping with me as much and not waiting at the door for me anymore but I just thought it was a phase. I urge all pet owners to be very observant of differences in their pets behaviors because maybe I would have caught it earlier and she would still be with me. |
