Mystery's Story

Mystery survived over three years with small cell intestinal lymphoma. She was 14 years old when she was diagnosed and she lived to be 17. She took prednisone daily and Leukeran twice a week. Three months in she was heavier than she had ever been - had regained all the weight she had lost. Do not be afraid of chemo - cats tolerate it very well. Cats with this kind of lymphoma can coast along for two years or more with very little in the way of symptoms so more like a chronic disease. There are anti-nausea meds and appetite stimulants if needed. Mystery became much more affectionate during her remission - seems she knew we were helping her feel better.
