mike's Story

in a nutshell, we got mike at 11 weeks old as a rescue from a puppy mill. his litter was brokered to a pet shop but he was rejected because of an innocent heart murmur. mike lived the GOOD LIFE, for sure. his favorite thing in the world to do was FISH. every day of the year i walked the shorelines of lake michigan with mike and he trolled through the waters about chest deep. calm days were by far the best. he was well known in our area for his fishing skills, catching anything from minnows to brown trout! mike was an awesome dog and my constant companion. in november he became quite ill and it took over 2 weeks of various testing to get the final 'cancer' diagnosis on december 7th. we were told he wouldn't see christmas. he died in our arms, at home, on december 13th, 2009. i miss him terribly still. RIP big guy. we love you!
