Casey Bridget's Story

I adopted Casey Bridget in 1992 and she was one of the healthiest cocker spaniels I have had since I started having them as pets in 1978. She never had a medical problem until her 15th year of life when she developed oral melanoma. She never showed any problems eating ot drinking and the tumor was never visable overtly or covertly due to its location. Casey went through surgery and several costly radiation treatments at the Vet Oncology Center in Chalfont, Pa. She was declared cancer free and I was able to enjoy one last year with her until she died from renal failure in her 17th year of life. Experiencing this with Casey has made me become very self educating on canine cancer, prevention and treatments. I wish I knew then what I know now and maybe I could have helped her brother Brendan who I lost to cancer in 2005.
