Sadie's Story

Sadie became our therapy angel in 1997 when we were suffering from the death of a son. As I sat having coffee and voice told me to look for a cream cocker at the humane society. The voice would not be quieted. So I went.
In the second pen was a timid cocker with a white heart on her forehead.
For thirteen years, Sadie has been a comfort, best friend and wonderful traveler. She's moved with us to three states and is always happy to be with us.She's wonderfully bright, knows far more human words than I know dog barks, and does amazing tricks.
Three weeks ago, the vet found a mass on her thyroid. We took her to the K-State DVM school and hospital. Sadie now has a cardiologist, oncologist, surgeon and multple case managers. They are so kind and talented at the school. We received multiple calls everyday letting us know how each process went. We humans should receive such care, and at the same price :-)
Now, I am so blessed and happy to say Sadie is a cancer survivor. She's receiving 24 hour home care, which means she sleeps, eats, walks in the snow, sleeps, changes chairs and sleeps some more. Pretty normal for any dog.
