| Buddy Love *Update*'s Story |

| My sweet Buddy Love lost his battle with cancer in our arms at 10:30am on Saturday June 20, 2009. We had taken him for a wonderful RV trip to see the Ocean & Eastern WA both. He'd never seen either and enjoyed himself so much. His sarcoma had spread to the point that it was pushing his esophugus out of place & he had begun coughing and choking. The morning that we said goodbye, he met me in the hallway at home, wiggling his sweet body between my legs and smiling up at me. It was the most brutal thing I've ever had to do, saying goodbye to him when his spirits were so high. After a hearty breakfast of chicken breast, bacon and eggs, we brought him up to his doctor and held him, talking to him as he slipped away. I knew it was in his best interest to let him go on OUR terms, and not the cancer's terms. I was not going to allow him to suffer or come home and find that he had choked to death without his puppymama at his side. As hard as it was, it was the right thing to do. God Bless all of you that have to go through this. It is so, so hard. Please read all that you can online. It's amazing how much I've learned after losing two of my furry boys to cancer now. Absolutely question EVERY SINGLE INJECTION/VACCINE/FLEA TREATMENT that your vet's office just wants to automatically give them. They are not always necessary, particularly if you do not board your animals or let them run loose. Also please avoid vegetation sprays/grass killers. At least, read up on it. Blue Buffalo does have the right idea when it comes to what goes into their foods. Worth looking into. God Bless and Good Luck to all of you! KD |
